Culture and Education Center Borovje

The project brings together cultural, educational and sporting programmes within a single civic structure, conceived as a new point of collective life for Borovje.

Rather than separating these functions into distinct volumes, the building establishes a common framework in which different activities can coexist, overlap and remain visible to one another.

A system of open and enclosed spaces extends throughout the complex, blurring the distinction between circulation, programme and places of informal encounter.

The structural order provides continuity across the building while allowing individual spaces to respond freely to their particular requirements.

Courtyards and planted terraces introduce light, landscape and exterior space throughout the upper levels, creating a more porous relationship between inside and outside.

The building is understood not as a collection of isolated functions, but as a piece of social infrastructure whose spaces acquire meaning through their shared use.

Architecture and landscape ultimately become part of the same continuous environment, extending public life vertically through the building and onto its roof.
